Have As and Bs in their high school math and science classes
Successfully completed Algebra II
Successfully completed a course where the trigonometric functions are taught. To meet the trigonometry prerequisite, students must be able to use sine, cosine, tangent, and the Pythagorean Theorem to determine angles and side lengths for right-angle triangles.
For Explore Engineering Innovation, students must have completed a high school course Chemistry and/or Physics including a lab. Many students advise knowledge of physics is particularly helpful for the course
For Biomedical Engineering Innovation, students must have completed a high school Physics course including a lab component where hands-on experiments are completed and lab reports are written. Students need to be comfortable with drawing and calculating forces in free-body diagrams, equations of motion, and principles of electric circuits prior to taking the course.
